Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa in Orlando is a stunning resort, with wonderful amenities and a beautiful property. The resort is a Walt Disney World® Good Neighbor property, which means that they offer standard rooms, suites and villa-style accommodations; are AAA-approved; meet Disney standards for quality and service; have a Guest Services desk to assist with Disney vacation planning and ticket purchases; provide guests with access to Walt Disney World® Resort information prior to arriving in the Disney Theme Parks; and are comfortable, convenient and close to the parks. This resort definitely did not disappoint.
When I arrived I found a spacious, peaceful lobby, where I was immediately greeted by staff to check in. The gentleman who completed my check-in was helpful and informative, as were the concierge staff, who provided information about Disney that I would not otherwise have known. I had no problem finding my building and there was plenty of covered parking as the building has a two level parking garage under the units. There is easy access to the elevator from any spot in the garage. We loaded the luggage cart and took a quick trip up to the 12 floor where our unit was located.
The condo we were assigned to was spacious, nicely decorated and comfortable. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with an open concept living/dining/kitchen area. The kitchen area is full-sized with a full-sized refrigerator/freezer. This made it very convenient for planning meals with my toddler. This particular unit also has a small washer/dryer unit that really came in handy. The master bedroom contains a large whirlpool tub with separate shower. After looking around the unit, my daughter and I stepped out onto the balcony where we were treated to a birds-eye view of a beautiful pool, complete with Pirate Ship. Yes, there is a large pirate ship in the pool, with a water slide coming off of it–heaven for small children!
We absolutely loved the day we spent poolside. The pool has a sloping beach style entry. This is great for parents with infants and toddling babies. My daughter was all about the pool toys provided by the kids club and, of course, the pirate ship. Towels are provided so don’t worry about packing those. There is also a pool bar with drinks–alcoholic and non–and a small plate menu. We tried the burgers and slushes, both of which were delicious. You can also buy a plastic insulated drink cup with a lid, for a slight up-charge, that keeps your drinks slushy even in the Florida heat. The grounds surrounding the pool have a tropical feel, and all-in-all it was a really fun pool day.
I had the opportunity to visit the Reflections Spa & Salon during my stay. I booked my facial for Saturday morning, which turned about to be a great time to visit the spa. My mom was traveling with me so my mom and daughter played in our spacious accommodations while I had my facial. I was welcomed into a calming space where I immediately felt relaxed. I was given a locker key and taken to the changing area, where I found a robe and slippers provided for my comfort. The lounge area was comforting with a variety of teas and snacks for me to choose.
The esthetician came and escorted me to the treatment room where I was directed to lie face up on a heated table. She asked me about my skin and discussed an appropriate treatment plan. I found out the products they use are organic and made in Texas. The chocolate face mask was my favorite, and the products left my skin looks great and feeling very soft.
At the of the session I was offered some refreshments. I chose a mimosa–very refreshing! I drank my fruity drink and took in the calming environment for every second I could before going back to my over-stimulated, Disney-ed out toddler.
Now off to the next adventure!
